Q: Thank you for the response. I understand about the solid core vs hollow core. I also understand the weight PSF for the solid core. I have also downloaded the files you suggested. The flush pull looks fine. The remaining questions are:
1. Give this door weight of 325 lbs., what sliding hardware do you recommend? (Was considering Sliding Track: Considering the "Pemko 280A Soffit Mounted" hardware. Please confirm.)
2. Are there any other alternatives for a door of this size that are less weight?
3. Given this door size and weight, will this guide be easy and quiet to operate?
4. Which floor guide do you recommend? The surface mounted No. 102N or the in-floor "roller guide", No 94A and 106R/94?
5. What would be the net door height after the deduction for the sliding door hardware above and the selected door guide at the bottom? *: Net clear height from finished floor to finish ceiling is 114.75"
6. How is the total length of track measured for a 60" opening (61" door)?
7. What colors/finishes are available for this hardware? I look forward to seeing you quote.
A: Thank you for the responses and additional questions.
1. The 280A material per the SF section of the Pemko catalog is rated for 200 lbs doors. Pemko has the H440a-oH & H440a-Sw Series seen on pages SF-12 - SF-13. Which of these looks applicable for you application?
2. I do have have less heavy alternates I can suggest for doors.
3. In my opinion these doors will slide both quiet and easy - but this is only my subjective opinion and not to be interpreted as your final decision.
4. Refer to the applicable system from #1 above (I like concealed).
5. Depends on your selected system.
6. They run true to size as a rule and not shipped long.
7. Depends on the system but likely no finish options available.
