Q: Hi Richard, I hope your year is off to a good start. I ordered a Trilogy Alarm Lock DL2700WP 26D from you approximately a year and a half ago. I still have the original batteries in it and want to have some backup for when they eventually start to go. I believe the unit takes 5 AA batteries. Are these just "regular" AAs or are they special? Can I just tape together 5 AAs or do you recommend purchasing a replacement battery pack bundle? Thanks,

I would you to consider buying factory original equipment which the material was designed, engineered and tested with so as to not unintentionally void a product warranty. According to the installation instructions of your Alam Lock DL2700WP x 26D you will get fair warning when you are having a low battery condition and this battery is always kept on the shelf and as a result I would not keep batteries in stock beyond and immediate use .
