• Notching charges: This threshold can be ordered with an "L" notch. Please add $3.00 per piece and an extra day lead time.
• Finishing charges: This threshold can be ordered in Satin or Polished finish. Please add 50% to cost and an extra day lead time. This threshold can be ordered in a Pewter finish. Please add $6.00 per foot and an extra day lead time.
• Special Fasteners: Plastic Plugs #10 x 1", Lead Expansion Shields 3/16" x 1", Machine screws & L.A. (AJ's) 10-24.

Questions and Answers

Q: Hello. I have 2 sets of exterior french doors. One set has a small plastic piece installed into the threshold where the two doors join. This helps eliminate any air gap. My matching set of doors (side by side sets) does not have this piece installed. The 2nd set leaks alot when it rains, and I think its because this small piece is missing. I have a photo of it as seen here:

I cant tell the brand of my door after months of trying to find this piece. This is a long shot, but I wondered if you recognize this piece at all and what it would be called ... and fingers crossed its on your site for sale!!! I know you are probably so busy, and if you dont answer I will 1000% understand. I thank you for getting to the end of this question and hope you have a great day :))))

A: That piece is called a "platform" and while we do sell astragal platforms such as the DraftSeal DS460SP Sill To Astragal Platform as seen here:

I can only recommend that you perhaps build something out of a hardwood species of lumber - thoroughly seal the item on all sides and that I would install the Zero 254P-GY-PSA 12" Self-Adhesive Poly Pile Dust Plug as seen here:
