Q: how do you adjust hold open on a dor o matic junior swing
A: The function switch should have your hold open on it.

Q: Door opens but does not close. Can you give me the micro switch part numbers please? There is and upper and lower switch inside but the upper one is broken and I need the part number to start with. Thank You.
A: We are not able to provide this information. Simply put I do not possess the part number for the micro switches from this unit - and I would not ask my repair service company to provide this information because simply it would undermine their business model.
While it may not be the answer that you want, it is the honest answer, and should you feel that we can be of some service to you and helping you get your unit repaired by providing the full repair service, certainly please feel free to reach out to us - thank you.
Q: I am looking for instruction manual for Dor-o-Matic junior swing. My question is how to reduce door pressure, when the door is opened by hand. Customers have to push too hard. For a dor-o-matic junior swing do you have any sort of add-on module that will assist in lowering the pounds of force required to push the door open? I think it's called power boost. how to adjust door pressure on Junior Swing. All the numbers I called for Dor-o-Matic that I found on line, are not the real DoM. Can you please give me the right number to call. If you can't help with the answer, maybe you can direct me to the manufacturer or elsewhere. Photos are here:

A: I do not have any literature on the Junior swing in my files but the Power Boost function you are looking for will have the opposite effect.

You are not able to decrease the spring tension on these units only increase.
Here are the facts that I think you are faced with.
The unit that you have is incapable of operating in the way that you like it to happen and in fact your definition of power boost would give you the opposite effect. In fact the unit that you have was discontinued likely two decades ago.
Having said that there is no bolt on item that you can add to the unit you have to achieve a lower reduced opening force. Again sir, there is no bolt on item that you can add to the unit you have to achieve a lower reduced opening force.
The way I see it is the opening is indeed code compliance because you are capable of producing an automatic handicap compliant condition and if your users complain that it's too hard to open then they need to push the button allowing them complete handicap compliance.
Or if you do not need an automatic operator on it why don't you remove the entire unit and then install a simple $100 handicap compliant hydraulic door closer.
If any of the above is deficient in your ultimate requirements and you'll have to conclude that a full replacement is going to be necessary.
I would like to hear from you, if there is any response to this, what specifically can I do for you at this time? I provided you a full technical answer and the direct contact information to the manufacturer.
If you do have something for me, please send it my way.
Q: Now reading this, It sounds like if the tension can be increased, it can also be decreased. Because if you increase too much by mistake, you don't have to buy a new unit. It looks like I have to install a new push button unit. Thanks for explaining about the bolt.
A: - I encourage you to not proceed with this attempt.
Q: I found someone in Bay area who specializes in Dor o matic. They will replace the motor as they believe it's the problem with the high door pressure. Same thing was said by some specialist in D o M in Canada.
A: changing the motor will not make this easier to open - just "word to the wise"
Q: Richard, when the opener was new, it was working well. Something is causing the excess pressure. I am trying to get it fixed for $400-500 instead of spending $4,500 on the new one. Do you know what can be causing the problem? I'll buy you a nice lunch for a correct suggestion. No penalty for the wrong one.
A: Knowing you require the unit to be handicap compliant - Handicap compliance would require a 5-pound maximum rating in the junior swing could never become rated for that sort of pound rating. I feel that you are going to have to replace the entire unit if you're going to be inspected and required to be found in compliance with handicap regulations.
I would suggest that you review this Falcon 8200 series

as a replacement for the unit you currently have, and specifically the 8242 as seen here:

Q: We have the Dor-o-matic Junior on a wheelchair elevator. The closer is no longer allowing the door to close all the way when the elevator is absent. If I unplug the motor, it slams closed with no problem. I cannot find an adjustment for the closing at all on the Junior - the only pot is on the time delay. Any help?
A: I have contacted the manufacturer who has specifically told me:
We don’t have anything in our tech support files. I asked a tech to see if any other manual would work and they said no. the Jr. Swing has been obsolete so long and was different than the others so there’s not anything I can send.
Which I interpret as an answer that is forged on the idea that some sort of technical manual must exist and that it's just not something that they are interested in doing the research to provide nor do they probably see it in their best interest to make that a public document.
I can only suggest either you send us the control board for a repair are you replace the unit outright with something modern which we can supply you with as well.
