Questions and Answers

Q: After you enter the dimensions of the lid and get a spring size do you need one or two springs per box?, I'm looking for some soft close hinges for toyboxes I am making for my grandkids. I dont have a lid built yet and I am at work so I need to order some so they will be home when i get in and I can finish them. The lids will be around 20"x36" and and made from 1x6 tongue and groove white pine, best I can figure they will weigh around 9 lbs.

For your application of a 36” wide x 20” deep at 9 lbs in weight, I would use a single lifting mechanism with a yellow rated spring which will handle a 65 to 95 inch pound rating as seen here:
