RECOMMENDED CUTTING SPEEDS
1/8" - 3/8" - 1200 RPM
3/8" - 1/2" - 600 RPM
1/2" - 5/8" - 400 RPM
5/8" - 3/4" - 350 RPM
3/4" - 7/8" - 300 RPM
1" - 260 RPM
1 1/8" - 240 RPM
1 1/2" - 200 RPM
Note:
These are approximate RPM speeds designed to extend the life of your cutting tools. Cutting oil should always be used.
Drills true round holes in stainless steel, mild steel, brass, copper, aluminum, plastic and woods up to 1/8" thick. Stainless steel and aluminum should be drilled at speeds no faster than 300 rpm. cutting oil must be used to preserve the life of the cutting tool when exceeding diameters of 1/2" and up. Electrical, automotive, plumbing, sheet metal duct work, heating & cooling, pilot holes for knockout punches.
