Questions and Answers
Q: I purchased the HDCDV-48 chain door stop and it did not come with any instructions. I am wanting to install this on a 48" metal door. Can you give me some measurements on installing this please?
A: It is not uncommon for crash chains from most manufacturers to not include installation instructions which strikes me as odd because it's really not obvious and straightforward necessarily how crash chains are to be installed correctly.

For a 4 ft wide door I would install the door portion approximately 18” from the edge of the door to the center line of the hardware and holding it about 1 inch down from the top of the door.

Regarding the dimension from the hinge jamb to the centerline of the hardware on the header I would hold that approximately 21” over.

Obviously do a reality check on this installation prior to drilling any holes.
