Q: Can I use hand lotion in this unit?
A: While the unit is not listed or rated for hand lotion, I have personally done so with success. I do regular flushing of the system with every refill and lotion will coagulate. Let us know how your experiment with this turns out.
Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with.
Q: How to clean the Bobrick 2111 valve that is not functioning?
A: I would attempt it to flush it with warm water which is the standard maintenance procedure after every soap change and if this attempt is unsuccessful I would recommend that you simply replace the soap valve.
The full set of maintenance instructions can be reviewed is seen here:
MAINTENANCE:
1. To fill dispenser, open filler-top by inserting BobKey (24-17) into slot of filler-top and then slide latch to the left. Lift u
p filler-top. Fill
dispenser with soap. Corrosion-resistant valve dispenses liquid soaps, lotions and detergents.
To prevent corrosion, use only chloride-
free, pH-neutral liquid soaps.
Close filler-top and relock by inserting BobKey into filler-top slot and slide latch to the right.
2. Clean equipment operates better, lasts longer, and requires less maintenance. Wipe the unit daily, including the spout, usin
g a damp cloth.
Use only water-soluble cleaners.
Never use abrasive cleaners
. Avoid allowing cleaning liquids to collect behind unit. Periodically, remove
unit from wall to clean back. Refer to technical bulletin TB-21 for further information.
3. Periodically clean the dispenser by pumping warm water mixed with soap from the dispenser through the vessel and valve to flu
sh out
contaminants or dried soap residue.
Never use abrasive cleaners.
4. If the soap valve fails to operate satisfactorily, the problem may be caused by dried soap or dirt clogging the spout or th
e soap valve. TO
REMEDY: Clean spout with end of BobKey and/or flush the dispenser as described above.
5. Do not disassemble the soap valve. NOTE: If for any reason the valve becomes nonfunctional, a new soap valve replacement ki
t (Part No.
4112-79) must be ordered as seen here:

Q: Hi, How do you unclog these?
A: In general I would remove soap valve from the dispenser and I would wash the unit in warm water. If you have routinely clean the soap valve using this method you should have no trouble unclogging the valve however if you've never done the procedure of washing and rinsing the salt valve with warm water you may not be able to break apart that clogged congealed soap within the valve requiring an outright replacement of the valve all together.
However for the Bobrick B-2112 Soap Dispenser Horizontal Type
Unfortunately there is no option to replace that soap valve in an outright replacement of the soap dispenser would be required.
Q: The dispenser will not push all the way against the wall even with the screw tightened. It's loose. Had a similar one for 15 years with no problem but this one won't sit flush with the wall. Any Suggestions? Thanks.
A: If the unit is relatively brand-new I would contact the distributor you purchased it from and request a warranty replacement.
Q: Having some trouble with sliding this on - the lip around the edges projects so far! Are we doing something wrong?
A: Be sure that you have backed out the securing screw that you can only get access to from the fill door. If youre not back the screw out you wont be able to slide the unit down onto the wall plate.
