Q: Can this be used on a residential house or is it commercial only?
A: I don't see any specific reason why you could not adapt this to a residential application however just keep in mind you're going to have to modify and alter your roof condition (as you would in a commercial application as well) to account for the requirements of this rough hatch and skylight with ladder access.

A: Bilco does not supply the laldder assembly to reach from the floor to the hatch - Sorry.
Q: Can this product be installed in an 8 pitch roof and so the hinge is on the side or the bottom so head room is not an issue when on the pitch?
A: I see no problem with the hatch operating with the hinge side on the lower end, but would suggest you consider installing it level so that you clear opening requirement along with safety considerations for operation be met.
