Questions and Answers

Q: Are the Sargent 106 auxiliary controls that I ordered handed? They are only working on RHR doors, but not LHR doors. Hopefully there is an adjustment we can make? Please let me know.

A: They are not handed but be mindful the 106 is used for CVR devices and the 306 is used for SVR devices. I did happen to review your order to see you also placed an order for the Interchangeable Core Mortise Cylinder Housing 26-054 x B520-296 x 36-083 x 626 - Schlage and we know that does not have the proper 13-0664 cam on the back of the cylinder so that could account for the auxiliary control not working correctly.

Please confirm you have proper operation with a mortise cylinder with the proper Sargent cam installed and report back to us.

Q: Please see attached email from UCLA regarding the Sargent 106 Auxiliary controls we ordered for this project. They have advised the parts we installed have the functionality of the “100” series only, where after operation the lock reverts back to the unlocked position. We will need the functionality where it returns to the locked position after use. Is there anything we can do to modify these locks to achieve this function?

A: This issue is easily explained by inspecting where the locking levers have been cut back to.
