ASI Swing Up Grab Bar with Peened Grip

Exposed Mounting
Tubing: 1-1/4" (32mm) diameter x 18 gauge (1.2mm)
Bracket: 9 gauge [5/32" thick (3.8)] plate with seven (7) 1/4" diameter (6.4) mounting holes provided
Bar has 1-1/2" diameter (Ø38) tubing hinge and a solid bar axle with adjustable friction sleeve balance
Solid stop bumper prevents raised bar from banging into wall
Exposed mounting screw holes are drilled and countersunk
Satin stainless steel

Dimensions

Operation

Swing-up Grab Bar is lowered manually to horizontal position for support and raised for departure.
ension control prevents grab bar from dropping from the vertical position.
Balance tension is adjustable by owner by tightening or loosening the clamp bolt.
Bumper provides bar top rest position.

Strength

Designed to meet and exceed ADA/ABA-AG requirements as published in ICC/ANSI A117.1-2003 and 28 CFR Part 36, amended as of 23 July 2004, that fabricated product shall be of adequate strength to support a minimum load of 250 pounds (113.4 kg).
Mounting to the wall is a critical part of the system to meet this requirement.
The fastener system must be adequately sized to withstand the shear, tension or pullout, and torsion loads generated by the maximum loading.

Installation

This unit is surface mounted. Installer/construction contractor must provide concealed anchor plate or blocking as specified in construction documents or as required by local building codes prior to wall finishing.
Fasten wall plate to concealed anchor or blocking plate with appropriate hardware through each of seven (7) mounting holes provided.
Note that concealed mounting plates or anchors and hardware are not supplied with this product.
Ensure that mounting configuration complies with local building codes.
For compliance with ABA-ADA Accessibility Guidelines, install unit so that top of horizontal bar is between 33" and 36" (838 to 914) above finished floor (AFF) for use by adults.
Other heights are appropriate for other age groups at lower levels.
