This installation is a mess - and I am not getting any response from the original vendor installer. Can I fix this myself with your guidance? Thank You Kathryn S.
Obviously where to start, and this is a two-person job, remove all of the screws from the interior side of the metal vision frame. I would record the net cut out size that is in the door and then I would also record the actual glass overall size. Please return that information to me for review as I will be able to determine if the glass provided is the correct size for your application
At this point I would encourage you to very carefully the glass and be mindful that there is likely glazing tape at some point in the installation and tempered glass in my experience is very brittle in the sense that you cannot twist the glass at all so be extremely cautious when trying to push or remove the glass out of the opening because there may be adhesive glazing tape.
At this point you will be looking to determine whether or not you can center the actual glass in the metal vision frame in such a way that you will not have exposed the outer perimeter metal of the construction of the insulated glass unit.
If it seems obvious that you cannot send her inappropriately then you just simply need to order the correct size piece of glass.
