Q: do you know if anyone makes a router template for installing these?
A: No one makes a template specifically for the Adams Rite MS1847 - having said this - you could certainly use the Porter Cable 517 Heavy-Duty Lock Mortiser Template as seen here:

and here:

Adjust the unit so as to be set to the proper width and height for your lock prep.
However the issue there is to account for the
17/32" body width but the 1/4" radius on the -06 or -09 variants of the lock body. Please note the Stile Preparation on page two of the Cut Sheet seen here:

Clearly states a 17/32" wide prep.
We do sell a 17/32" diameter router bit as seen herr:

and given the fact your prep at the radiused ends will be only .032" larger than needed - you might not concern yourself (alternately you could use a 1/2" bit to get the perfect top x bottom radiuses and the retool and do the 17/32" for the flat sides and stopping short of when the radius occurs).

Q: Rich, We spoke on the phone earlier this week about the ms1847, which I have ordered from your website since. I picked 2 day air, so hopefully you've already sent it. On Yelp I left you a more positive review, which I'll update after our transaction(s).
Also, we spoke about a jig, so I'd like to thank you again for your help. I thought you'd appreciate this other jig I found. It's here: Trend Lock Jig. I haven't bought it yet, so I'm not sure if the templates the provide will be exactly what I'll need for this deadlatch, but I'm sure I can have my families shop laser cut me the perfect template that'll slip right into this. It's magnetic, so it's literally a snap. I'll let you know how I like it, but so far the reviews & videos I've seen are very promising. Next, I'll be trying out different tools and techniques for cutting the aluminum, but I believe it cuts similar to wood, with carbide tools. Thanks again for the help! Respectfully, Bob W
A: Yes indeed we have already sent the order and the tracking number has been provided to you via email.
Thank you for the review and I look forward to your report on your installation process using this "Trend" installation tool. I am unfamiliar with it altogether and hope you can take lots of photos and even videos of your work and progress and forward them to me.
