Q: Are they rated for exterior installation?
A: Not particularly. The ED-2002 is a 16 gauge steel door and frame without insulating or weatherstripping provisions.

Is both Water Tight and Air Tight and specifically:
Air Infiltration: less than 0.01 cfm/sq foot - ASTM E 283
Water Penetration: no leakage at 15.05 psf - ASTM E 331

Q: Wondering if this could be used as a wall mount attic access hatch (if larger)? I have a closet wall attic access and want a flush mount design like this- 22" X 30"
A: While you could certainly install the ED-2002 series of access panels in a ceiling application youMay want to consider another option because this model is neither fire-rated nor insulated. I would suggest that you consider the Cendrex PFU fire rated insulated upward swinging access door as seen on page twelve of the manufacturers catalog here:
