Product Description:
Zero 2070A-42-OM 42" 42"L x 42"H Flood Barrier Shield with Channels for Doors - Outside Mount
Flood Barrier Shield with Channels for Doors
Outside Mount
Length: 42"
Height: 42"
Thickness: 1/4"
Material: Aluminum
The two vertical tracks with rubber seals and all the knobs come with the shield
A door saddle is optional, depending upon the floor surface
For door openings over 4 ft it is recommended to use a post(s) in the center of the shield. These posts help minimize the hydrostatic deflection experienced on a wide plate.
These post, part number 22070-IS (inner sleeve) and 22070-OS (outer sleeve), can be purchased separately
This removable barrier shield answers pleas from builders for help in protecting doors and building contents from water ingress in flood-prone areas
The shields are not designed to seal 100%, the idea is to stop excessive water flow into the house or garage and to prevent water damage
The lightweight aluminum shield requires no tools or muscle strength for insertion into premounted vertical channels attached to either the door frame or adjacent walls
The shields are made of a marine grade aluminum to prevent rust. This is the same aluminum they use in submarines.
Additional shield sections can be stacked if greater height is needed. Use “H” bracket for stackable option.
The unit complies with guidelines of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Federal Insurance Administration (FIA) for use on doors in flood-prone areas
The key to the shield's impermeability is the use of closed cell sponge (CCS) neoprene rubber engineered by Zero to ensure a water-tight seal. The rubber lines the aluminum channel brackets and the bottom of the shield. The neoprene also compensates for gaps at the threshold.
Standard heights are 10", 20", 24", 30", 36" and 42". Custom sizes are available upon request. Please contact sales for more information.
Zero International has a warranty and guarantee for three years. If the shield is stored inside you have should have limited problems with the neoprene. The neoprene in the brackets however should be replaced when they are damaged. This can clearly vary based on temperature climate, weather damage in some areas may be worse than others.

Installation
The commercial Flood Barrier Shield installation shown below is for a 12-feet wide, high-traffic opening with an overhead door and no existing threshold:
NOTE:
Imperfect site conditions and large size of some commercial door openings require more site preparation than is for typical residential Flood Barrier Shield installations. To prevent possible deflection of the barrier shield under excessive hydrostatic pressure, a center support (removable when barrier shield is not needed) should be used for openings larger than five feet, as shown here.
The center support used in this installation consists of two sleeves: inner tubing (#22070-IS) and outer tubing (#22070-OS) that can be purchased separately, see above.
