Recessed Access Door for Drywall Surfaces Size(HxW): 12" x 12" Thick: 1/16" lead Wall/Ceiling Opening: 12-1/8" x 12-1/8" Includes Cylinder lock with Latch and Thumb Turn This cylinder locking device provides keyed access from the outside of the door. The night latch also has a small thumb latch that allows the spring latch to remain in a retracted position, which allows access at any time. The face of the door on the RDW is recessed to receive a panel of drywall to provide a dry wall finish on the door to match texture of surrounding drywall. The door frame includes a drywall bead so that drywall cement can be applied to conceal flange. Removable doors allow for unobstructed access to wall or ceiling contents. To facilitate access and reduce door load, Karp can manufacture any size access door in a double leaf style. A 1/16" x 3/8" neoprene gasket can be added to the door providing a tighter seal between the door and door frame, adding protection from exposure to outside elements. Material: Type 304 stainless steel is well-suited for exterior weathering locations or interior hygienic locations such as hospitals and health care, pharmaceutical plants, research laboratories and food processing facilities. Stainless steel is corrosion resistant, durable and requires very little maintenance. Karp's stainless steel access doors have a No. 4 satin finish, which is a general purpose bright finish with a visible "grain" which prevents mirror reflection. Construction: Frame shall be 14 gauge steel and doors shall be 16 gauge steel. Door shall be recessed 1" Trim shall be galvanized steel drywall bead. Hinge shall be concealed pivoting rod type. Locks shall be flush and screwdriver operated with stainless steel cam and studs, or shall be key operated cylinder lock with automatic dust shutter.
