Questions and Answers
Q: Can you tell me if your Part #: IVES SC3P1010F-716E is the very same pre-lubricated hinges as the Schlage SC3P1010F-716? What does the "E" in your part number mean? I am specifically looking for the sealed, plastic, retail 3/packs, as they are pre-lubricated with a special, heavy, sticky, lubricant that works well, is long lasting, and adds a nice solid fee to the operation of the doors. I have also seen the same Schlage hinges, in small cardboard box packaging, not packaged for retail, and not lubricated at all. They were loose and squeaky, and I would not want to use them.
A:
I spoke to the Ives factory who stated the IVES SC3P1010F-716E and the reference to 'E' is simply an error in the price book. The 'E' is simply a copy and paste error.
Q: It did not say if the hinges were pre lubricated. Would you happen to know if they are pre lubricated?
A:
While there may be a coating of oil etc over the parts I would not classify these as pre-lubricated in the sense that you would have something like white lithium grease pre applied to the hinge prior to shipping.
