Questions and Answers
Q: According to the door subcontractor, THE LATCH FROM IVES AS SPECIFIED DOES NOT WORK ON 1-3/8" INTERIOR DOORS, IT BLOWS OUT THE TOP OF THE DOOR DURING DOOR MACHINING. Can you suggest an alternative?
A: The IVES RL36-A US32D Roller Latch with ASA Strike - Satin Stainless Steel is used routinely on 1-3/8 thick doors.
Q: Thanks for the reply and I realize now that that I was not clear in my question. The door sub (Frontier Door) states that the specified item – the exact roller latch which you suggested-- is the problem. I was writing to ask for an alternative. The Ives RL36-A may be used routinely by some door sub’s, but Frontier door has had a bad experience with it. Any recommendation would be appreciated.
A: Agreed, the IVES RL36-A US32D Roller Latch with ASA Strike - Satin Stainless Steel is anything but robust.

I suggest you use the DCI 4030 x A Strike US26D Heavy Duty Adjustable Roller Latch with A Strike - Satin Chrome Plated as seen here:
