Includes strike and latch assembly
Strike size: 8 x 7.75 x 2.75
Fits nominal 8" wide frames
Fits 1-3/4" door thickness
Used in conjunction with center hung pivots
Meets ANSI/BHMA A1882 standard
Used in conjunction with center hung pivots, rescue hardware allows a bi-directional door swing in emergency situations. When a patient becomes trapped behind an inward swinging door, the center tong depresses allowing the door to swing in the opposite direction without causing damage to the frame.

Q: If the frame is already prepped for a rescue strike plate is the install of this Ives unit just as simple as screwing it on the the frame?

A: The answer is yes. It is just as easy as installing a strike down to a frame with just a few more screws - the problem is going to be knowing absolutely that the strike you're going to replace it with is going to match the location of the holes in the new strike.
