GE Security GEC-KTS216

The KTS216 is one of GE Security’s new desktop series video switchers, a device capable of receiving up to 16 camera inputs and switching those video inputs to a single monitor output (includes a second monitor output option). This compact switcher is equipped with easy to use programming options and connectors for a variety of peripheral devices.

This microcontroller product comes with an onscreen display for programming which shows current video input, input names, loss of video detection, alarms, and sequencing. Programming and basic operation is performed through the attractive elasto-numeric keypad on the front of the unit, and the use of LEDs to indicate the state of the switcher to the user. Users can set programming options by entering information through a simple system of onscreen menus. These programming options are based on the needs of each installation and can include sequencing tours, alarms, audio follow, looping, and an external trigger. Sequence routines can be set to respond with different delay times and react to a variety of inputs. Alarms can be set to override sequence routines, and an external trigger can be used to time the sequence routines. Peripheral devices can include alarms, audio follow, and an external trigger device, usually a VCR. The KTS216 also provides the option of looping BNC connectors to allow the use of an additional auxiliary device. The KTS216 is a compact unit designed for desktop use, but it can also be rack-mounted. When rack-mounted, the KTS-216 would take up only 1 U of rack space.
