Alder/Beech Wood-1-3/8" Door Thickness - 20"W x 36"H - Chevron Louver with Lip Moulding

Size: 20" W x 36" H 1-3/8" Door Thickness Alder and Beech wood may be substituted for each other at mill option; the image above shows Alder/Beech wood type as example purposes only. The wood type that you are buying is the exact species that you are ordering today. See wood types/images below. Chevron Type Louvers have approximately 35% free air space. They provide air movement while maintaining privacy in both directions. Screws: #9 x 1-1/2" Philips Flat Head Deep Thread screws are provided with all louvers. Sizes listed in the website are even sizes on 2 inch intervals. Any size can be custom made such as odd sizes or fractional sizes. For sizes other than listed on the website there is a 25% up-charge to the next larger size. Contact Us to process an order. Louvers wider than 18 inch will have a vertical reinforcement dividing the louver into smaller sections for strength and stability. Depending on the width of your louver you might have more than one vertical reinforcement. If there are any questions regarding this prior placing the order please feel free to reach out to us for clarification. Finishing: All items are shipped unfinished and must be painted, stained, etc., by customer. Please consult with an industry professional for advise regarding finishing. Shipping: Generally ships via Ground Service (or at factory option). Frames larger than 24" will Ship LTL ("Less Than Truckload") No Returns & No Cancellation: All louvers are custom and made to order. Louvers are non-stock and not cancelable. Installation: Cut out size is one inch larger in width and height than order size (i.e. a 12" x 12" order size equals a 13" x 13" cut out size). Questions and Answers

Q: I wanted to verify some information for the rough openings on the door louvers kits your company offers. I was looking at (2) different kits and wanted to see if our existing rough opening would be able to be used for these versions or if a custom size request would be needed. I have outlined the kits below:

Existing rough opening: 21.25” W x 37.25” H

E-ZEE ALV A8 Kit-LM 26x36
Existing rough opening: 27.25” W x 37.25” H

I know that the website mentions having the opening 1” larger than the kits, but I wanted to verify that the additional 0.25” wouldn’t case any issues

A: The 1/4" is not ideal and the louvers ought to be made for the ROs.

The louver will shift and possibly expose the cutout and even with shims, you might not be satisfied with the finished project.

Custom sizes do cost more, but ordering the correct size is best practice.
