Q: I have one of these installed in my house and want to add another. What does it mean that an "L" notch can be ordered?
A: An "L" notch means the factory can do custom cutting, trimming or notching at the ends of the threshold to suit your specific requirements. This service is quoted upon application after receipt of a sketch showing what cutting or notching you require done to the threshold.

Q: What is the overall length of a 36" threshold? The one I replace will need to extend on either side to the door jamb, approximately 36 1/2". Thanks.
A: The overall length of a 36” threshold is generally 36” -0” / + ¼” which means that it will never be shorter than 36 but can be slightly longer than 36 generally no more than a ¼” or in some cases an ?” or in some cases a ½”
the important thing to be sure of is that if you have a need for a very specific length be sure to order the next longest piece or pieces and simply indicate in the comment field the net length that you want us to ship the material out at.
Q: OK - this is a dumb question - but in looking at the diagram, which side of the threshold faces the interior v. exterior?
A: Certainly not a dumb question whatsoever - and I appreciate the question. Please click the image as seen here:

which indicates the exterior side and the arrow is the direction of travel of the door. Please feel free to send any follow-up question youMay have.
Q: What is the difference between mill brass and mill bronze in interlocking thresholds?
A: Not sure except that people use the terms brass and bronze interchangeably.. The proper term is "Architectural Bronze" which is an alloy of 4 primary base metals Alloy CDA 385 (Copper Alloy No. C38500). Mill is a reference to the finish. Mill means there has been nothing done to the base material regarding finish.
