The Doorking 1875-010 is a By-Pass Switch. This switch meant to provide a disconnect of the phone line to the telephone entry system with a simple toggle switch. Without the bypass and when the telephone entry system fails your home phone will not work either. With it however you can restore the line to the house while you're troubleshooting the issues with your system in the meantime.
