Q: I have a question on the 5psw2 5-position switch. In the troubleshooting manuals for the Besam Unislide door control unit, as well as the Besam Ultraview sensors, it mentions that the 5-position switch should have a “reset” button just below the switch accessible with a paper clip. The reset is supposed to allow the operator to make a system test of the battery, electro-mechanical lock, watch dog relay, and closed position. It also reads the FS switch settings, CSW distance and Time delays. After closing the operator is reset and ready for normal operation again. However, this 5-position switch that I have, similar to the 5psw2, doesn’t have the reset button. With the trouble I am having with my sensors responding to my control unit, I am wondering if the CU is waiting for this reset sequence to take place. Is there a way to make that happen with the “reset”?
A: Regarding your switch, if it does not have a place to reset it, the reset function will be performed via thethe knob. Simply go past the hold open setting to reset the control.
Having said this, the 5psw2 is an older module switch the 600135 & 600139 us15-1500-02threw 09, as seen here:

has reset capabilities or you can toggle 120v.
Q: Hello, Im wondering about the compatibility of a R600091 control unit with a 24V motor instead of an original 40V motor. I have no idea if a specific device is made for a specific voltage. I imagine that a current limitation exists and then a too low voltage motor would require a too high current. Thanks for your help. Arno
A: I agree. Based on E = I x R
As voltage changes so too will amperage a resistance (and the different motor will have a different Ohm value as well).
