The American Dynamics 291 Video Server Rack from Axis is a 1U rack for installing video blade encoders like the AXIS 243Q Blade Video Server and is designed for use in applications like airports, hotels and train stations having pre-installed analog cameras. Capable of holding up to 3 interchangeable and hot-swappable blades, the rack does not require disconnection of power while installing or changing the blades. It can be placed either on a shelf/table or mounted on a 19" equipment rack.

The connectors in the 291 Video Server Rack include an Ethernet connector and 3 terminal blocks comprising 4 alarm inputs, 4 outputs, and a RS-485/422 half-duplex interface for Pan/Tilt/Zoom cameras. The Ethernet connector is compatible with 10/100/1000 Mbps networks and connects via a standard RJ-45 connector. The terminal blocks provide the physical interface for various applications like motion detection, event triggering, time lapse recording, alarm notification via email, image storage to FTP locations, etc.

Single network connection and integrated power supply make installation and servicing quick and easy. The auxiliary DC power output comes in useful for connecting and routing power to external devices other than alarms. Installation Guide, mounting kit and AC power cable are included with the 291 Video Server Rack.
