Q: After replacing the battery on a Von Duprin 2670 Guard X why would the horn stop working?
A: Replacing the battery on the 2670 should not cause the unit stop working. Make sure the spring that provides tension on the plastic finger is not bent out. The spring should be at a 90 degrees bend and the plastic finger should switch back and forth on either side of the torsion spring when key is activating or deactivating the 2670 Guard X.
Q: How to replace the circuit board or horn on a Guard-X device?
A: The horn is part of the board and can only be replaced by replacing the entire board.
Q: Is the Von Duprin Guard-X exit device fire rated?
A: The Von Duprin Guard-X exit device is not fire rated because the deadbolt is not spring loaded. Therefore, there would be no positive latching as required on a fire rated opening.
