This 442S could be mounted either vertically or horizontally.
It's fail secure so that when the power is cut it's always going to re-lock with its solenoid on the back.
There is the strike plate which gets mounted to the door
Being a fail secure lock always re lock when the power is off.

The Template is really the Instructions and they are very simple and straight forward even for someone that has no experience with electrical applications.
There is an outline to the Instructions showing the requirements of that.
There are minimum door width requirements for the vertical style and that has everything to do with how the strike plate is gonna make contact with the bolt.
The unit can be wired on either 12V or 24V.
