The factory supplied image shown above illustrates the Rockwood SP47 prepped for a surface mount bolt that would permit the bar to be attached to the face of the door with an exposed head fastener. The manufacturer can supply through bolt mounting which would not feature that prep seen but would have a bolt through the door which features drilled and tapped threads on the underside of the push bar. Visual evidence of the mounting method would not be obvious from the push side of the door.
