Q: Afternoon, Switching out pemko inswing sills to the 8452qd but the extenders that came with the inswing doors seems too tall to fit the 8452dq. Is the ext2d correct for the 8452dq? Is there another extender for taller sills?
A: Unfortunately there is only one extender type from Pemko and they are not compatible with the Pemko 8452 Outswing Fixed Bumper Sill Residential Threshold at all. In short there are no extenders available for this type of threshold.
Q: Are there for the 8451?
A: I am sorry but no. In order to accept an extension the leading edge of the threshold must accept the profile and the 8451_ too in incompatible. Perhaps a sill nosing might work?

Q: Maybe i’m not explaining my situation fully. I’ve reversed a few doors using what I thought were pemko 8451s. I’ve attached pictures as seen here:

This door does have the ext on it but it was sent to me by the person i bought the doors from so not 100% sure they are pemko but they look ike it. I liked the threshold so much I decided to replace a few others before install. I really like the positive seal and the doors are in covered areas so pemko said it was okay to use an outswing threshold for an inswing doors. Problem is the lower height 8452 isn’t working with the the ext left over from the original inswing thresholds though it did with the the 8451. Maybe they aren’t pemko but they really looked like it. Also attached some pictures of the pieces from the other threshold and both what i think is and 8451 which accepts the ext and the 8451 that doesn't. By the way your videos rock!! Helps a ton making decisions. Sorry to be a pest but i went with 2x6 walls so i’d like to do what i can get the jamb match the thresholds. Again, thanks for your patience.
A: Is this the image where you are having the difficulty with the extension height not being perfectly even?

Q: Thanks again for dealing with this and working with me. Here’s the 8452 I purchased with the left over ext for what I thought was for an 8451

The 8452 seems to have the same design for an ext but this ext is too tall to latch in place. Maybe what came with the doors is some kind of pemko knock off. That’s why I checked your website to see if i could buy the ext from you to be sure it was for an 8452 pemko. But if they don’t make one I guess I’m outta luck. Do people normally just use the standard 8452 in a 6” jamb?
A: The only problem I see that you have is that the extension you are using with Pemko 8452DQ is simply not a Pemko extension.
The outswing type of threshold are somewhat unusual to begin with but it is perfectly permissible to, flip it
end for end", add an extension to it and then use it on a inswinging application.
I would highly suggest that you continue with your plan except purchase a new extension that you know to be compatible with your existing Pemko threshold."

Q: Wanted to thank everyone on your teams. The new threshold is perfect with the new ext. Thanks a million
A: Thank you for your response and feedback on this job and I stand ready to assist on this or future potential projects.
