Q: I have a door that needs to be converted to use an overhead opener for handicap use. The currently installed Dor-o-matic floor closer is impeding it’s operation. Would this be a suitable retrofit over the D-shaped spindle to bypass the function of the closer?

A: Absolutely correct and in fact this is a model way in which a pivot conversion is used. I cannot say if this is the correct unit for your floor closer, send me photos and I will make a specific reccomendation.
