Electric Strike Terminology

Operationg Mode
Non-Fail Safe (NFS) - Unlocks when strike is energized. Automatically locks in case of power failure. Also known as ''fail-secure''.
Fail Safe (FS) - Locks when strike is energized. Automatically unlocks in case of power failure.

Keeper
The moving piece of the electric strike sometimes called the ''jaw''. This piece opens and closes when electricity is applied.

Indication Switches
Switches internal to the electric strike that allow for remote monitoring of conditions.
LBM - This switch monitors the latchbolt and indicates whether or not it is fully inserted into the electric strike.
LCM - This switch monitors the locking cam and indicates whether or not the keeper is locked in place.

Faceplate
The exposed flat piece of the electric strike that mounts to the door frame. The piece is available in all standard finishes and comes square corner for metal frames and round corner for aluminum frames.
