Questions and Answers

Q: I am having a tough time finding a replacement door bottom for my steel entry door. The door is at least 26 years old & there is no identifying information on the door. The bottom of the door itself has a 3/4" wide groove that goes from end to end. The distance between the 2 kerfs or upright posts on the door bottom I would like to replace are 5/8" (inner) & 7/8 (outer). The door & door bottom are 1 3/4" wide. I have attached a photo of the bottom of the door & the part I would like to replace. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Pat

A: I have reviewed the image of this metal clad door and the original vinyl and cannot provide an exact replacement. Can we look to perhaps another solution? How much undercut are you working with (the dimension from the bottom of the door to the top of the threshold)?
