A: CW types are mortised on the edge to allow a flush installation of the latchbolt i the edge of the plate and therefore the edge of the door (allow for a small amount of mortising on the edge of the door to allow the wrap plate to install tight against the edge. On the CW types the latchbolt screws directly to the plate so that if the door is so completely damaged where it is not possible for the latchbolt to be screws to the edge of the door.
VF types, FLAT FRONT WRAP-AROUNDS, work in a similar fashipn execpt that the edge of the reinforcer is not mortised and the installation of the wrap plate is intended to go over the edge of the door where the latchbolt is attached to the door edge itself.
Regardless of type, they are perfect for repairing, reinforcing or remodeling doors. Speed nuts are supplied with all Flat Front Wrap-Arounds and and crews are provided for all CW mortise edge types. Both can be used in conditions when door is severely damaged or when replacing a mortise lock.
