*The bottom line is youll need some auxiliary means by which to close the door but my concern with using a double acting door closer is that the last two or three degrees will not be biased in the closer body itself so as to pull the door hard tight against the stop - I dont know that youll have best results using an auxiliary stop and an inherently double acting closer and if the door will truly be single acting that you ought to go to the center hung single acting closer
