They are looking to replace the lockset on this church door. They gentleman is not a locksmith and cannot identify any of it :)

It is not functional at the time. We tried to flip and fix it but did not work. I need something similar to the picture and that will fit in the same mortise opening.Please send me pictures of something similar that could have a plate to cover old holes.

A: I understand that you wish to replace the lock set - why are you replacing it and with what would you like to replace it with? It appears as if the height is 8-1/4” on the edge of the door - is this correct? It yes, you will need to do some technical work on the door to 'dutchman' the edge of the door and reprep as all modern locks are 8“ tall - are you going to be able to work with a lock that's 8 inch tall? Also a new lock is going to require different holes in the face of the door on both sides - will you be able to mitigate that type of problem? perhaps we can use a new mortise lock that has large plates on both sides of the door to cover up all of the old holes or at least as many as possible.

Your client may want to stick with that same hammered wrought iron type look and the catalog options here might be a relativley reasonable replacement:
