Questions and Answers
Q: We are installing a Bommer pivot door model 7801. The hardware includes a black pin about 1/8 diameter and about three inches long. This is not mentioned in the instructions so we don't know what to do with it.
A:

The piece of metal that is about an 1/8" diameter and about 3-4 inches long is called a tension rod and can be seen here:

https://absupply.net/bommer-f1200-tension-rod-for-3029-3-3029-4-3029-5-4010-3-1514-1515-7800-2900-2100-2200-1001-hinges-2410-auxiliary-springs.aspx

The piece of hardware (7801) is a non-adjustable type of hardware so therefore does not require the inclusion of the tension rod because the tension rod is what is used to adjust the tension.

You can simply discard that piece of material as it is not needed whatsoever.

Is there a follow up question that we can perhaps attempt to answer? We take pride in our technical expertise so don't hesitate to ask.
