Q: i have a door that swings both ways but stays open several inches one way any ideas?
A: Does it come back to the same position no matter what direction you swing the door?
If so then loosen the nut at the bottom lift up on the door and rotate the door to the closed position.

Q: Richard - thanks for the video - I have a swing 1/2 door, which decided the other day to now want to swing open. From your video, it may be that I have lost the tension pin, or it moved to another spot, if that is possible. I do have tension now keeping it open. If i am able to reposition the tension pin, will that correct my problem, or is there something else causing my door to want to swing open? thanks - Ron?
A: Which double acting hardware do you have on the door now. Do you have the 7112 from Bommer?
Q: We are planning to take four, 30" standard doors to hide a 4' deep closet which will be a laundry/pantry area exposed to our kitchen. When I grew up, we had a pinned swinging door between our kitchen and dining room. I need the doors to pivot from the floor and the top. What would you suggest? Thanks!
A: An initial question would be whether or not you're application calls for double acting doors - I would think that in your instance double acting doors would not be required and that you would need to simply single act the doors are pull them out of the four foot deep closet which I imagined to be about 10 ft wide.
Generally pivot hardware would be appropriate and if I'm on the right track of understanding your opening, the other hardware such as angle stops and concealed edge pulls are common in this sort of application. Speaking on the doors, you will want to be sure to order your doors as set matched so that the veneer in all four panels runs continuously or looks as if they belong together in and they running match on all four door faces so be sure to specify that or you can specify each pair to be pair match and then the veneer on each pair would appear different but just be mindful if you are staining the doors that you have the option of ordering the veneer so that it looks harmonious.
