Q: I'm putting a single gate door on my fence and want it to swing both ways, my frame is a 2×4 and the door will weigh approx 40lbs. Can you recommend a hinge?

A: Is this an exterior application or an interior application? If this is exterior do you want stainless steel components or do you want something standard? Assuming your gate 1-1/2” thick and you're doing something either interior or exterior you may want to consider the Bommer 3029-5-601 5in Double Acting Spring Hinge-Mortise Type-Steel Base-Bright Black Japanned as seen here:
