Q: Will this work on a door 1 1/2" thick ?
A: It can be used on a 1-1/2” door thickness, is a special order (typically 2 - 3 weeks) and you will need to specify that in the part number. The paddles can accommodate up to 3-1/4” door thickness.
Q: Rich, Might be an odd question, but here it goes… I have a new tenant in Naperville that doesn’t understand how the Adams Rite paddle handles work to ‘hold open’. I was trying to find a video (because there is a video for everything these days!) but I wasn’t successful. I am sure I am not searching the correct keywords. However…I kept seeing different videos with you in it for different parts. It made me wonder if maybe you knew or had a video that I could share with him on how to simply dog the lock to stay open. Written instructions didn’t work for him and we are up in Woodstock, so I can’t just go show him very easily! If not, I am sure I can figure out other ways but thought I would see if you had anything. Thanks Jon Dickson
A: Great question and while you cannot dog open the Adams Rite 4590 Paddle Operator, the way to dog open a door that has an Adams Rite 4590 Paddle Operator installed can be reviewed here (spoiler - it is actually done on the lock body):
