Specifications & Installation
  • Tubing: Fabricated of #18 ga stainless steel with a #4 satin finish. Available in 1 1/4" outside diameter. All bends are formed by an automatic mandrel bending process. All bars maintain a constant 1 1/2" offset.
  • Finish: Standard finish is a #4 satin finish. For a non-slip finish (peened) add suffix X to model number. (Ex. UG120X-B)
  • Flange: Fabricated of 3" diameter, #11 ga stainless steel with #4 satin finish to match tubing. Flanges are heliarc welded to bar to form a one piece construction. Each flange has three (3) mounting points (1/4" dia.)
  • Strength: Bars with a 1 1/2" offset clearance will support loads in excess of 900lbs when properly installed. Bars with greater offsets will support loads up to 250lbs when properly installed.
  • Tension Control Mechanism: An adjustable clutch to control the amount of tension on the bar required to raise and lower the bar. This prevents bar form falling when in the up-right position.
  • Check all state and local building codes for proper mounting heights and locations. ADA code specifies 33”-36” above finished floor for maximum mounting height.
  • When properly mounted, swing-up type bar will sustain a static load of 250 lbs.
  • Installation: Coordinate installation with architect and contractor to avoid interference with toilet, stall doors, etc. Place unit on wall surface making sure unit is level, transfer mounting points and drill pilot holes. Secure unit with proper fasteners per application.
  • NOTE: When possible is recommended to use BP-30 in wall back plates when mounting swing-up grab bars. Under the square tube is an adjustment pin that will control the tension on the raising and lowering of the bar. Adjust to proper tension and test the path of the bar.

Questions and Answers
Q: Does the floor flange on this unit have holes or is sunk into a drilled hole only. Can this ship UPS Ground ?
A: The floor flange on the UG120-R3330 will have mounting holes. The intent is to secure that flange directly to the finished floor.

The R-bars can be manufactured with an optional 6" anchor piece that can be secured into a small opening in the finished floor for additional stability. It would be a custom fabrication if we included the 6" anchor piece.

With or without the 6" anchor, the unit can ship UPS ground.

Q: If I understand the installation correctly. There is a 3" flange that is first attached to the wall and floor and then the bar is screwed into that. Also, will these fasten into a tile floor or is there a special type of screw for that. Thanks for your help
A: No - this bar does not install in the fashion you describe. Both the wall and floor mounting points feature a 3" welded flange to the tube. the flange has 3 - holes drilled in the flange. It is through these (total of) 6 holes that allows you to anchor the bar to the wall and floor.

These bars will indeed mount of a tile floor but the question is what is the sub floor. Please advise both your sub floor and wall structure and we will happily make a anchor recommendation.
